Visual Experience Trends for 2020 Weddings

Welcome to a new decade! 2020 is a very popular year for weddings and ‘non-weddings; alike. We have already seen a rise in ‘surprise weddings’, a wedding disguised as an engagement party, also an increase in fully customisable weddings – specialised fonts, surnames being combined to create a fresh new family name, individualised weddings, couples are even opting to develop their own Pantone colour and why not? Your wedding is the perfect time to reflect on your journey together as a couple and what makes you so special together and what better way to share that passage with your guests than through your choice of suppliers and exclusive styling options to create the perfect visual experience that truly represents your relationship. The trend for 2020 is to diversify how your guests and event is being captured, through the use of stylised premium products, those that use a professional camera and provide a high-end experience and many customisable options!

The Photo Booth guys specialise in creating unique experiences for our clients. The most popular choice for weddings/non-weddings is our Boutique Booth, our beautifully handcrafted wooden photo booth, that produces studio-quality photographic prints and digital images. The booth uses a beauty dish to ensure all guests look like fashion models, with razor-sharp cheekbones. The full gallery is delivered to the client within 48 hours of the event – a perfect way to bridge the gap between the event and your photographer’s shots.

Couples want the photo booth set up to be part of their stylised event, to fit with their theme, to be the room centrepiece, with most couples hiring the booth for 5 hours – the entire duration of their reception so that the entire event can be captured.

The Photo Booth Guys offer a fully customisable experience. Many couples are now opting to move away from the standard prop pack (no we don’t offer feather boas) in favour of custom props to represent them as a couple, their love of travel, of food, of dogs, etc. Foliage walls are very popular, greenery represents growth. Our green walls are often paired with one of our custom Neon signs. Neon signs are a fantastic way to jazz up your photo booth set up – fully customisable and able to keep forever and ever! Fully styled photo booth areas are also popular, partnering with the event coordinator and stylist we can create a lounge area for guests. The Photo Booth Guys only use professional cameras in our booths, so it is possible to shoot sofa setups. The Boutique Booth packages start from $1295 for 4 hours (10% discount for all Diamondport clients).

Another rising trend in event photography is the ‘Portrait Studio’, traditionally used in many Asian weddings. It is the perfect way to capture the attendants in their finery ad they enter your reception/party, many couples often using the fully customisable instantaneous print as their wedding favours. The portrait studio is very popular for 2020 weddings, with people moving away from the Instax cameras and instead choosing something more premium that guests are more likely to treasure as a memento of the day. The Portrait Studio starts from $2895 for 3 hours; our esteemed photographer will capture your guests upon their arrival at your party using a high-end camera that products studio-quality images – instantly printable and customised to your event. This product includes a backdrop, additional studio lighting and 2 sharing stations. The guests can use sharing stations during the event to send the pictures to themselves in real-time.

2020 is the year for clear vision – albeit through a camera lens!

In 2013, the Photo Booth Guys designed the photo booth that changed everything. A photo booth that had no walls, took studio quality images and was beautifully designed. What started as a side hustle at a few weddings and parties quickly grew into an events business doing over 1000 parties and brand activations a year.
They’re a team of photographers, designers and event planners. They are The Photo Booth Guys (and gals).
